Edo 2020: Expectant mother wins first gold for Lagos

A pregnant athlete, Aminat Idrees, has won the first gold medal for Lagos State at the ongoing National Sports Festival in Benin, Edo State.

The Reporters gathered that Idrees, who BlackBox Nigeria gathered is 8 months pregnant, won gold in the Mixed Poomsae category in Taekwondo alongside her male counterpart, Arowora Roqeeb.

Aminat and Rokeeb wowed the judges and spectators with their amazing delivery which got them gold. This is Team Lagos’ first gold at Edo 2020.

The University of Lagos graduate further did Lagos State proud by also winning Silver in the female team Poomsae category and an individual bronze in the same category making her one of the leading medalists at the ongoing National Sports Festival in Benin City.
