Two Persons caught at the wee hours of Monday night, allegedly carrying out smear campaign against President Mohammadu Buhari in Lokoja, are now cooling it off in police net in Lokoja, according to the Commissioner of Police Kogi State, Ayuba Edeh.
Speaking with the Nigerianpost, the Police Commissioner said at about 2:30a.m in the early hours of the night, men of the command arrested two young men seen painting buildings and carrying posters with the inscription “Buhari Must Go”
The Police Commissioner said that while people had the right to protest, such exercise must be done lawfully without inciting the public.
He added that the young men could not have been protesting at the wee hours of the night as is being insinuated, adding that painting walls, buildings and pasting anti Buhari posters could not be termed as peaceful protest.
He expressed the command’s continued commitment in working round the clock in the state to ensure the protection of lives and property but warned mischief makers to stay clear of the state, stressing that the command would fish out and arrest them.
