Independent Hajj Reporters, a civil society orgainsation that monitors and reports Hajj activities in Nigeria and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has congratulated the newly appointed Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Saeed for the kingdom.
The civil society organisation, in a statement signed by its national coordinator, Ibrahim Muhammed in Abuja, lauded the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for appointing Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Saeed to pilot the affairs of Hajj and Umrah industry worldwide.
“This appointment is very significant to Independent hajj Reporters and the entire Muslim Ummah giving the background of Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Saeed as a former Minister in charge of media who knows the role of Media in promoting and educating the Muslim Ummah on the activities in the Hajj and Umrah Industry.
“The role of the Media in Hajj and Umrah affairs has become manifestly critical especially within this pandemic period. The commendable effort of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in managing the Covid-19 pandemic requires commensurate awareness for the benefits of the Muslim Ummah.
”Independent Hajj Reporters wishes to extend its hands of cooperation to the New Minister of Hajj and Umrah in the course of discharging our collective responsibilities to our dear pilgrims and also pray for Allah’s guidance in serving the Guest of Al Rahma”.
The national coordinator also commended the immediate past Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Mohammed Saleh bin Taher Benten, for his impactful achievements in the Hajj and Umrah industry since he was appointed in July 2016.
“It is indeed a verifiable fact, that Dr Saleh Benten succeeded in matching Hajj and Umrah services with Information Communication Technology that has made service to pilgrims more efficient and effortless,”he added.

It comprises of Muslim Journalists, drawn from the electronic, print and online media to enlighten Nigerian pilgrims and work toward creating awareness on Hajj and Umrah activities in the country.
Every year, the group mobilizes its members to monitor and report Hajj and Umrah activities in Nigeria and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
