Fuel sells at N170 per litre in Lokoja–The Reporters

A litre of fuel on Saturday, sold at N170.00 in Lokoja,kogi state capital, despite the fact the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC) assured Nigerians that there would be no increase in pump price of the product for March.

A correspondent of The Reporters who went round many filling station in Lokoja, reports that petrol attendants were seen selling the product at the unofficial price.

The official price of fuel in the country is N163 per litre.

When questioned by our correspondent,as to why the development, the attendants interviewed said the directive to sell at the “new price” came from the headquarters of their company to change their pump to reflect the unauthorized price.

Some of them told The Reporters that some of their colleagues were selling at N200 per litre.
