Mrs Ngozi Joy Mbachi, Chairlady of the Aboatulu Kindred ,Women Meeting, Enugwu-Ukwu , Njikokaa Local Government Area of Anambra has called on women to be firm in their everyday life challenge.

She gave the advice in her message of courage the meeting of members of the group at Enugu-Ukwu on Monday, to mark the International Wmen Day.

According to Mbachi, challenges make a person and bring out the best in him or her to achieve better life for the commoners in the society, where he or she resides.

Mbachi, who noted that most women across the globe had paid the prize for being firm to handle, urged the women to rise above any form of limitation that might inhibit their efforts in confronting challenges toward making positive impact in the race toward serving humanity.

Mbachi, who was represented by her vice, Mrs Grace Anagor, described women as special breed from God with diverse qualities to achieve any goal the set their mind on to achieve despite the challenges

She said to women:“As individuals, we are responsible for the choices we make. We can choose to challenge inequality and gender bias. We can choose to be supportive and help create a more inclusive world.

“Today, I call on you to do all these and honour all women challenging the norms against women freedom and voice.

The chairlady commended some women in the past who saw the highhandedness and stood up against such act.

” I commend the roots of International Women’s Day which lie in the labour movement of the 18th century, the German Marxist philosopher Clara Zetkin who organised the first-ever Women’s Day celebration in 1911, we should up hold their efforts.”

She said that March 8 was worthy to be celebrated because it was a call for action to accelerating women’s equality and celebrate the social, political, economic, and cultural achievements of women and encourage young women to work harder .

“ In a day like March 8, women like Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Ngozi Amanda Adichie, the late Prof. Dora Akunyili, Mrs Uche Ekwunife , Prof. Stella Okunna among others should be celebrated to serve as model to growing young women across the country.

“So many women across the global have distinguished themselves in their various careers or chosen profession, Hillary Clinton in politics as well. These women should be well celebrated on special day as this,” she said

Mbachi further urged women in various vocation like the teachers , nurses, beauticians, traders, farmers, journalists, Evangelists amongst other sectors of human endeavor to stand out wherever they are and prove their mantle..

Mbachi also called on women to embrace the new challenges meant to reduce hunger and enhance the drive to make positive impact in the society, saying that the present realities of womanhood have gone beyond family and domestic parenting.

“Our world today has witnessed and still passing through hard times and perilous moment, women’s passion and energy is highly important in fighting the challenges abound in today’s world, women should stand out for good”, she said.

“ I encourage you to pay a visit to the elderly, visit mother’s babies’ homes , prisons and schools for special persons ,your strength lies in these acts of humanitarian services.

Mbachi called on the government to remove any bottleneck that bared women from reaching their optimal height in the society.

She said that women were special breed and need to be well cared for and call for an end to women molestation, child traffic, child labour and act of rape on young girls and women.

“ We are using the day celebration to call on the police and other security agencies to watch over the affairs of the women with interest and provide needed security at all times,” she said.

Mbachi, who said that this became necessary because some women in rural areas were being intimidated by some men, appealed to government to watch out for women intimidation in rural areas and put a stop to the crime.

” Widows suffer so much in hands of some men in communities because of their wealthy positions, nobody challenges them.” Women need freedom from such men to be freed and happy to shine and make a difference.” she said.
