NECO announces new date for 2020 SSCE (external)

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has approved new dates for the external examinations

This, it said, was based on the collective request by candidates for more time to enable them complete registration processes for the 2020 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) (External),

Azeez Sani,the Head of Information and Public Relations division, NECO in a statement he signed in Minna said the examination, earlier scheduled to commence on Monday 1st of February, 2021 and end on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 would now start on Monday 8th of February, 2021 and end on Wednesday 10th March, 2021.

Sani encouraged candidates who missed some papers during the 2020 SSCE (Internal) due to ENDSARS protests to take note of the new dates and report for the examination at various designated examination centers.

He also advised all the candidates sitting for the SSCE, especially for those that missed some papers during the ENDSARs and its attendant security challenges to access the revised Examination Time Table on the Council’s website: www.neco.gov.ng

The Reporters recalls that, NECO had while announcing the release of 2020 SSCE (external), disclosed that,223, 000 candidates could not sit for the examination in 12 states.

The state are:Kano, Abia, Edo, Enugu, Rivers, Ondo, Osun, Lagos, Ekiti, Oyo, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja will make up for the lost oportunity in ths first quarter of this year.

The Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO, Professor Godswill Obioma had also told journalists that the candidates were to re-sit and/or re-writing all the papers including Chemistry (practicals), Economics, Commerce, Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics and Food & Nutrition between the 8th February and March,10.
