Members of the dissolved Kogi State Inter Religious Council (KOSIREC), have commended Governor Yahaya Bello on the appointment of Alhaji Salihu Adaji as Onu Itobe in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi state.
The group gave the commendation while on a courtesy visit to the new Onu Itobe in his palace.
Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, Bishop John Ibenu, represented by the State Secretary, Pastor C.O. Abraham, said by the appointment of Alhaji Salihu Adaji as Onu Itobe, the Governor had fixed a square peg in a square hole.
The CAN boss in the state, therefore,urged the Onu Itobe to replicate his wisdom which assisted KOSIREC in his new assignment.
Contributing, the State Chairman of Jamaatu Nasril Islam, Ambassador Usman Bello, thanked Governor Bello for finding the new Onu Itobe worthy of the appointment.
He congratulated the people of Itobe for having a man knowledgeable and well connected as their traditional ruler.
Responding, the Onu Itobe, said he was overwhelmed with the show of love displayed by leaders of CAN and JNI and described the visit as a move toward achieving the much desired religious harmony in the State.
He expressed gratitude to God, the Governor and all those who ensured his emergence and promised not to disappoint them.
Our Correspondent reports that the occasion featured special prayers by CAN and JNI for the Onu Itobe and his dormain, as well as goodwill messages by the state Secretary of JNI, Alhaji Isa Adeboye and Alhaji Danjuma Bello Ibrahim.
