The Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Mrs Bisi Fayemi,has promised to partner with the Federal Government initiative in ensuring that vulnerable children and indigent children live constructive life.
She made the promise on Tuesday while receiving the Special Adviser to the President on Social Investment to the President, Hajia Maryam Uwais in Ado-Ekiti.
Fayemi reiterated her support in ensuring that out of school children, roaming the streets were brought up in a right manner and their rights well protected.
She to called on stakeholders such as traditional rulers, communities leaders and religious leaders to inculcate the right values of hard work on the children to better their future.
Earlier, Uwais said that the Federal Government initiated the project in ensuring that vulnerable children weree well taken care of.
” Its a framework that the Federal government is providing to coordinate and support the Ekiti State Government,to provide learning and empowerment skills,finance literacy ,sport creativity as well as the health of children who are marginalized in the society.
” We want to add values to support children and to reduce poverty by empowering the vulnerable children all over the country,” she stressed.
A traditional ruler in the state, The Onimesi of Imesi-Ekiti, Oba Olatunji Olatunde, commended the the Federal government for ensuring that vulnerable children were well taken care of.
He, however, advised the Federal government to take data of those vulnerable children in order to make the work easier for it and the state government.
He assured that traditional rulers in the state would try their best in ensuring that vulnerable children in their communities were engaged in productive ventures.
Rev. Father, Joseph Adeleye of the Catholic Diocese of the state also assured that religious leaders would do their best in making sure that vulnerable children weree well brought it in the fear of God.
Some of the dignitaries at the event, include, traditional rulers, religious leaders, Non Governmental Organizations, Civil Society organizations among others.
