NSCDC arrests 10 suspects during Yuletide in Kwara

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, says it has arrested 10 suspects for allegedly vandalising transformer indulging in armed robbery and being in possession of hard drugs in various locations in Ilorin, the state capital.

Mr Makinde Ayinla Iskil, the Commandant of the Corps in the state, disclosed this at the Command’s Headquarters in Ilorin on Monday while parading the suspects.

According to him, the command’s increased surveillance of the state during the just concluded Yuletide in the state led to the arrest of the suspects.

Ayinla- Iskil said some of the suspect were arrested at Tanke in Ilorin while vandalising transformer, another suspects apprehended during a robbery at an hotel, adding that othersre were at large.

Mr Ayinla- Iskil noted that the third group comprised those caught with hard drugs in their possession.

The NSCDC Commandant said the suspected criminals would be handed over to the appropriate quarters upon the completion of investigations on their case.

He urged all criminal elements in the state to turn new leaf and remain law abiding or face the music.

Ayinla-Iskil promised that the command would collaborate with other security agencies in the state to ensure adequate security of lives and property in the area.
