Bagega takes over as new police commissioner in Kwara

The new Commissioner of Police for the Kwara State Command, Mr Mohammed Lawal Bagega, has taken over from Mr Kayode Egbetokun, the former occupant of the office.

A statement from the Police Public Officer for the Command,Sp Okasanmi Ajayi, in Ilorin on Wednesday said Bagega hailed from Bagega in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Bagega, Ajayi added, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, from University of Sokoto, did his youth service in Plateau State and enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force as a cadet officer on March 1, 1990.

The PPRO said’ “ln the course of service to the Nation, Bagega served in various capacities in different Commands and Formations, including the following: Osun State, Bauchi State, Delta, Lagos, Adamawa, Kebbi, Kano, Jigawa and Imo State Commands.

“He also served at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja and was deployed to Kwara State Police Command as the Commissioner of Police from Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil Kano.

“The commissioner of Police attended courses within and outside the country, which include; Disaster Management course at Mount Carmel Khaifa, Israel. Senior Executive courses in Integrity and Management and Corruption.

“Intermidiate Command Course(ICC) from Command and Staff College, Jos.

“Cp Mohammed Lawal Bagega psc.is a detrabilized Nigerian, a seasoned police officer, disciplined and incorruptible, he is committed to discharging his duty with vigour, honor, integrity and with fear of God.

“Cp Mohammed Lawal Bagega psc. is married with children and loves traveling and tourism.”
