A head of Saturday Local Government Election in Kogi State, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ede Ayuba Ekpeji, has assured the people of the State of the adequate security and deployment of Officers and Men of the Command.

This he said was done in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure adequate security of lives and property, during and after the election.

This is contained in a release made available to The Reporters in Lokoja on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer for the police command in the state, DSP Williams Ayah.

The Commissioner of Police further stated that the Command priority would also ensure violent free election.

“In order to achieve this, members of the public are urged to fully cooperate with the security agencies, to guard against criminal elements hijacking/disrupting the process of election'” the police boss said.

The Commissioner, however, warned would be trouble makers, especially those that will masquerade as Political thugs, to stay way from the polling booths and collation centres.

“Parents are equally advised to warn their wards to desist from any act capable of undermining the credibility of the electoral process as the full wrath of the law will be applied on anybody caught breahing the law regulating the conduct of the election.

The Commissioner of Police wished the people of the state a peaceful and violent-free election.
