A Lokoja-based physically challenged Journalist, Mr Ade Bada, has urged people living with physical disabilities not to keep on bemoaning over their situation but see it as a challenge to break new grounds in life.

Bada, who has been visually impaired for the past four years, gave the advice in an interview with a correspondent of The Reporters in Lokoja on Monday.

The Journalist, said even as visually impaired person, he was to write a Book entitled, ” Daring the Storms, the Challenge of my life”, said he saw any challenge in the life of man as a way of testing his faith and resolve to face the reality of life.

He said he was able to write the book through voicing of his thoughts contained in the book, into a gadget which was transcribed, edited, prove read by literary academics before publication.

Bada, who disclosed that he could do some activities sighted persons carry out, unaided, reminded those passing through similar circumstances, such as his, to know that ” there is glory in challenge for those who can convert their predicament to their advantage.

“When you think too much over your challenges,it weighs you down and other health challenges start chipping in and disturbing your peace of the mind. Why don’t you take that with sense of optimism, have faith and move on with your life, involving in positive activities to boost societal development.

Bada noted that there were a lot of physically challenged persons in the society with talents they could harness for self actualization and for the development of Nigeria but robbed themselves of such opportunity because they resort to fate.

The journalist, who said that he was hopeful for the estoration of his sight one day, disclosed that he would soon float an NGO whose focus would be to help persons with disabilities for them to make positive impact in themselves and other members of the society.

“When operatiional, I hope to bring my friends, especially in the health, such as medical doctors who will give health education and tips to members of the public on how to take care of their health to check various diseases.

The author, in his early 50s and now a pastor in one of the churches in Lokoja, also said the planned NGO would carry out high blood, sugar level, sight examinations among other functions, for members of the public for them to know their health status.
