ASUU meets on strike, Nigerians eagerly await outcome

    Members of ASUU National Executive (NEC) currently in a meeting at University of Lagos (UNILAG) to discuss whether to suspend the strike or not, according to the union’s Twitter on Saturday.

    The Reporters, an online publication, reports that Nigerian Universities have been closed to academic activities for the past 8 months as a result of some demands by university lecturers, including their not to be part of IPPIS among others.

    The Federal government says it has fulfilled most of the demands of the union and urged its members to resume work.

    Some students, who spoke with our correspondent, expressed hope that ASUU would see the wisdom in suspending the strike,at the end of the meeting for them resume studies and be saved of the 8 months of psychological trauma of staying at home.
