The Democratic challenger in the 2020 US presidential election, Joe Biden says Economic Recovery
Public health and economy are two areas that will remain under focus if he and Kamala Harris, his vice are elected to office.
The Opera news qouted Biden as saying that “While we’re waiting for the final results, I want people to know we are not waiting to get to work,” in his address to the nation from the campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware.
He noted that “more than 20 million people are on unemployment. Millions are worried about making rent and putting food on the table. Our economic plan will put a focus on a path to a strong recovery.”
The US central bank chief Jerome Powell on Friday said a full economic recovery is unlikely until people are confident that it’s safe to resume their normal activities, news agency, PTI, reported.
Meanwhile, The Reporters’ correspondent gathered that Biden maintains his lead against the incumbent president Donald Trump in the results so far declared on Saturday.
Biden, who has so far recorded 264 votes, out of the required 270 votes for him to realise his presidential ambition as against Donald Trump’s 214 votes, expressed confidence that he would win the election.
