The Police Command in Kwara state says it has arrested and detained officers that allegedly captured and harrassed two young men around Gari Alimi as shown in a viral video.
The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO for the Command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, said this in a statement in Ilorin on Friday.
He said the arrested officers were currently undergoing departmental trial.
“The victims of this despicable act are encouraged to come to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Police headquarters Ilorin to give evidence to enable a diligent trial.
“The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State appeals to members of the public to always report unprofessional conduct of police officers to his office through the following phone numbers. 08125275046/08032365122,” he said.
