Emir of Zazzau’s death:Emir of Ilorin, Governor AbdulRazaq mourn

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Mai-Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, lhas commiserated with the Zazzau Emirate Council over the death of the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris.

The monarch described the demise of the frontline monarch as a colossal loss to the entire people of Zazzau Emirate, Kaduna State and Nigerians.

The emir stated this in a condolence message issued on by the Spokesperson to the Emir,Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona on Sunday in Ilorin.

Sulu-Gambari also described Idris as a compassionate traditional ruler, whose contributions to nation building process would not be forgotten in a hurry.

The emir also condoled with Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State as well as the entire traditional rulers in the state over the “irreparable loss.” 

 “My heart and prayers are with the immediate and extended families of the monarch and the entire Zazzau Emirate Council, at this period of monumental loss.

“I pray Allah to accept his good deeds,forgive his shortcomings and grant him Al-janatul firdaos,” he said,

 
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq also commiserated with his Kaduna State counterpart, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai and the Zazzau Emirate over the death of Idris.

He did so in a statement made available to newsmen in Ilorin by Rafiu Ajakaye, his Chief Press Secretary.

AbdulRahman said: “I join our compatriots nationwide to commiserate with His Excellency, the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai and the Zazzau emirate on the death of the revered monarch.

“He served his people meritoriously and built bridges of friendship and goodwill across the country.
 
“The death of the monarch is not just a national loss but is also a personal loss to my own family which has a strong bond with the great Zazzau emirate, under which my late father, Alhaji AGF Abdul-Razaq (SAN) held the title of Tafidan Zazzau.
 
“On behalf of my family, the people and government of Kwara State, I condole with the people, the government of Kaduna State and the immediate family of the Emir of Zazzau,Dr Shehu Idris (CFR).

“May the Almighty Allah grant the monarch Al-Jannah Firdaus, comfort his family and the entire people of the Emirate.

The Reporters, an online publication, gathered that the late monarch (85), who died at 44 Military Hospital,Kaduna, during a brief illness has been buried in accordance with Islamic injunction.
