Kogi youths praise Bello for flagging off project light up in east

Youths of Kogi East flank have commended Governor Yahaya Bello for the flag-off and commencement of Project Lightup in Kogi East.

The Kogi East Zonal Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comrade Pete Amodu, gave the commendation in a statement in Lokoja on Friday.

He expressed optimism that the project, when completed, would enable residents of the nine local government areas of the zone enjoy stable electricity supply without overloading which he observed usually cause light tripping and destruction of electrical instruments in the area.

Duaglobalnews gathered that the project will include upgrading of Itobe Bridge Cable, rehabilitation and complete overhaul of the power supply infrastructure covering the nine local government areas.

Amosu also noted that the project would also improve the living standard of the people and boost their economic activities.

He said youths, especially, would benefit more from the project because they would be highly engaged by virtue of the fact that the project would ensure stable electricity for the to power their businesses.

The Zonal Chairman, therefore, pledged the support of the youth of the zone to the governor to boost efforts aimed at ensuring successful completion of the project.

Amusu said besides expressing their readiness to partner with the state government in the course of the project, the youths would monitor and give necessary support in all the local government areas where the local chapters of the council were on standby.

He, however, warned the contractors to shun shoddy deals, stressing that youths would raise alarm “immediately they noticed any infraction.”
