Federal workers hoping to secure extension of service should shelve the idea for good, the Head of Service of the Federation (HoS) Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan.
This according to her is because extension of service for any officer in public service had not been approved by the Federal government.
The HoS said this in a statement shared on the website of her office of on Monday in Abuja.
Duaglobalnews reports that Yemi-Esan stated this while reacting to reports circulating on social media that, her office had issued a circular to that effect.
She stressed that her office did not release any circular on the subject matter.
She, therefore, urged members of the public to disregard the circular, adding that the content “is fake, incorrect, and did not originate from the head of service.”
On COVID-19,Yemi-Esan expressed displeasure over the level of their non-compliance by civil servants with directives on measures against the pandemic in government offices, especially with the increase in the spread of COVID-19 cases in the country.
The office added those found with nonchalant attitude toward the directive include;government workers who should not be going to the offices and not keeping to the number of visitors to the barest minimum.
