When the news filtered into the world, indicating the break of the dreaded Coronavrus in Wuhan in China on December 31, 2019, little did Nigeria know that the pandermic disease will visit the country talkless of killing hundreds of its citizens and the death continues til this moment.
The pandemic was first reported in Nigeria on February 27,2020 and before one could say Jack Robinson, the high and might as well as other class of people have bowed to the disease, the cure of which remains elusive even to the world.
Nigeria was struck again on June 25,2020 with the news of the death of the immediate past Governor of Oyo state, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi who battled but eventually succumbed to Coronavirus on that fateful.
Ajinobi’s death came barely a month after that of Mal. Abba Kyari who bowed to the world as a result of contracting Coronavrus that eventually killed him.
Abiola Ajimobi, who was also the Deputy National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was born in December 1949 in Ibadan.
He began his educational journey Abiola Ajimobi at a tender age at Saint Patricks Primary School at Oke-Padre, Ibadan, where he had his nursery as well as his primary school education.
Unrelenting to acquire education, the late Ajimobi proceeded to Ibadan City Council Primary School in Aperin, where he completed his primary school education, obtaining a First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) respectively.
Subsequently, Abiola Ajimobi was enrolled at Lagelu Grammar School where he had his Secondary School Education after he had graduated from Ibadan City Council Primary School.
At the completion of his secondary school education, Abiola Ajimobi obtained a Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) as well as several other results.
He left the shores of Nigeria for the United States of America, where he had his tertiary education at the State University of New York where he studied Business Administration and Finance.
Upon his graduation, Ajimobi proceeded to the prestigious Governors State University in Illinois, where be studied Operations Research and Marketing. At the end of his degree programme in Operations Research and Marketing, Abiola Ajimobi obtained a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree accordingly.
Asides holding the position of the Governor of Oyo State on times past, Abiola Ajimobi had also functioned as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, where he was the Deputy Minority leader of the Senate.
In 1980 at the age of 31, Abiola Ajimobi wedded his adorable wife, Florence and the marriage is blessed with five children( four girls and a boy all of who are grown up) and the marriage lasted peacefully until death came calling on June 25.
The names of their daughters are Abisola Ajimobi, Abimbola Ajimobi, Ajibola Ajimobi and Ajijola Ajimobi while the name of their only son is Abolaji Ajimobi.
Abisola Ajimobi happens to be the first daughter of the Ajimobi family. Asides being the eldest, she is well known as compared to every of child of Abiola Ajimobi.
