In all being equal, kogi state workers should, any moment from now, receive 80 per cent of their salary for May, following the meeting between the organised labour and government officials, Duaglobalnews reports.
Our correspondent gathered that the two parties finally agreed to maintain the 80 per cent salary as was paid for April.
The online publication reports that the before the dialogue over payment of salary based on percentage, rumour was that the state government intended to its workforce 60 per cent for May.
This development the online also gathered had generated a lot of anxiety among the state workers, hoping to take full or at least,80 per cent, like their April salary.
However, the agreement to still pay workers’ salary on the basis of the previous 80 per cent was reached during the the meeting between the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC).
The labour side wad led by the state chairman, Comrade Onu Edoka government representatives in lokoja on Thursday.
With this new development, reliable sources from the Accountant-General’s office told Duaglobalnews that workers might get salary alert, starting from Thursday.
This they said was to enable the workers, especially the Muslims faithful among them celebrate Salah festival.
