(Ilorin)

The Police Command in Kwara state has denied rumour making round in the area, that suspected members of two rival cult groups have again clashed in Okelele area of Ilorin, killing two persons in the process.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command in state, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi, made the denial in a telephone interview with Duaglobalnews from Ilorin.

“There is no truth in the story making round, that suspected members of rival cult groups struck at Okelele and killed two persons on Tuesday.

“Members of the public are, therefore, advised to disregard the rumour and go about their normal business.

“The Police Command in the state has put adequate security measures in place to ensure safety of life and property through out the state,” he said.

The online publication, however, recalls that the PPRO had earlier confirmed the killing of one person by members of one of the cult groups last Sunday in Ilorin.

The middle-aged man, who the online outfit gathered belonged to another group, was gunned down within the premises of Okelele Junior Secondary School, Ilorin.
