The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Kwara State have partnered with the state government in distributing food items to corps members serving in the state.
The stimulus items, distributed to the corps members across the 16 local government areas of the state on Thursday include bags of 5kg semovita, cartons of vegetable oil, packs of tomatoe paste, packs of sugar, Golden penny instant noodles, bags of Garri among other food items.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin during the distribution of the items, the state NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Francisca Olaleye described the gesture as a parental provision by the NYSC and the state government.
She expressed optimism that the pilliative would go along way to cushion effect of the coronavirus pandemic and economic downturn on the corps members.
The state coordinator commended the state government for partnering with the scheme in making sure the “idea is brought to fore.”
She described the corps members as formidable impetus in the war against the pandemic disease, assuring them that their welfare remained the major priority of the scheme.
Olaleye, therefore, enjoined the corps members to reciprocate the gesture by being law abiding and advance their commitment toward making the state coronavirus-free.
