It is no more business as usual as bank customers now have to put on face mask before they can transsct business with their banks, Duaglobalnews reports.
A correspondent of the online publication who visited some banks such as First bank, UBA among others on Monday, reports that many customers were sighted clustering the gate of the banks with face masks.
At first bank, customers also kept to the concept of distancing at the ATM while on line to cash money.
Though kogi state has no record of the pandemic Coronavrus as at May 4, concerned residents have, however, called on the state government not to treat with levity the rumour of some states dropping some almajiris in Lokoja, the state capital.
“It is a serious matter, I saw a truck full of some youths believed to be beggars being off loaded at the popular NATACO junction in the night three days ago.
The government should beam its search light on that junction and other corners of the state capital.
“This is with a view to nipping in the bud the likelihood of state witnessing what other states are passing through interms of Coronavrus pandemic,” Mr Michael Jatto, told Duaglobalnews.
Meanwhile, kogi workers on grade level 12 and above have resumed duty on mondsy, the order of the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya, after almost a month of staying at home to check the spread of Coronavrus pandemic.
Duaglobalnews gathered that the on going negotiation between the Organisation and the state, over percentage salary payment may see thr workers going home with 80 per cent salary instead of the initial 50 per cent proposed by the state government,all things being equal.
This is according to one of the union members, who spoke to the online publication on the condition of anonymity in lokoja.
“We are hoping that based on the nature of negotiation between us and the state government, they will agree to settle for 80 per cent,” he said.
While the medical health care workers rejected the the percentage salary payment, the Nigeria Labour(NLC) in the state opted for “fair deal” in the negotiation.
