WHO advises on use of facial mask

Healthy People using face mask in order not to contract the unprecedented Coronavirus pandemic need to think twice over their action.

This the correspondent of Duaglobalnewssays becomes imperative as the World Health Organization,(WHO) has issued warning against the use of facial masks, even as the world battles the deadly disease.

WHO said in a statement that the of use the face masks by healthy people might lead to them having infections, especially during the current coronavirus pandemic.

In its latest update about coronavirus, the Organisation, which dropped a shocker, gave precautions on the use of masks.

According it, masks do not offer protection against coronavirus which has killed thousands of people around the world.

WHO emphasised that healthy people should not wear masks because its improper use coould be a source of infection.

The Organisation gave the following precautions:

“If you are healthy, you only need to wear a mask if you are taking care of a person with suspected coronavirus infection.

“Wear a mask if you are coughing or sneezing.

“Masks are effective only when used in combination with frequent hand-cleaning with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.

“If you wear a mask, then you must know how to use it and dispose of it properly, it warmed.
WHO therefore, offered pieces of advice on how to use the mask:

“Before putting on a mask, clean hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water. Cover mouth and nose with mask and make sure there are no gaps between your face and the mask.

“Avoid touching the mask while using it; if you do, clean your hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.

“Replace the mask with a new one as soon as it is damp and do not re-use single-use masks.

“To remove the mask: remove it from behind (do not touch the front of mask); discard immediately in a closed bin; clean hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.”

On the latest development on the pandemic, WHO noted with concern that the novel coronavirus was quickly becoming a menace for citizens across the globe.”

It disclosed that the dreaded disease had infected over 1 million people and killed over 37,000 worldwide, but that on a happy note, 186,000 infected persons had fully recovered from the virus.
