8-year-old boy donates cash to COVID-19 efforts in Kwara

An eight-year-old boy, Master Akinduro Oluwapamilerin, has joined other donors to help Kwara state government to stop Coronavirus from spreading the state by donating his savings of N1,120 to the state government’s anti-COVID-19 campaign.

Kwara State Technical Committee on Corona Virus (COVID-19) will Thursday night begin fumigation of markets across the state, a statement has said.
 
Receiving the donation from the boy, the Deputy governor of the state, Mr Kayode Alabi, thanked him for the rare show of patrotism and called on other members of the society to emulate Oluwapamilerin’s gesture toward the fight against the pandemic disease.

Meanwhile, a statement signed by the spokesman of Technical Committee on Anti- Coronavirus, Mr Radius Ajakaiye, said that the state government on Thursday, fumigated the seven markets in Ilorin,the state capital.
 
Duaglobalnews correspondent in Ilorin reports that the exercise took place at Baboko Market; Oja Oba Market; Mandate Market; Ipata Market; Kulende Market; Ago Market; and Yoruba road Market.
 
He added that the exercise took place between 7 a.m and 11 a.m, pointing out that it ” will extend to other parts of the state in the coming days.”

Ajakaiye the exercise was” part of the government’s holistic approach to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Kwara State and keep the people safe.”
