The usual Sunday church service across the Christian community in kogi state came a standstill on Sunday, following the ban on prayers in religious places to check possible spreap of the coronavirus to the state.
Duaglobalnews correspondent, who visited some churches in Lokoja on Sunday, reports that such places of worship were devoid of sermon, preaching and singing in praise of God.
The online medium recalls that similar atmosphere prevailed on Friday as Muslims also stayed away from Jumma prayers through out the state.
Some Christians , however, told our correspondent that they used the stay at home order to engage in family prayers,for God to intervene in the global fight to stop the pandemic disease.
Our correspondent, however, noted that though the state has restricted human and vehicular movement through out its 21 local government areas among other lockdown measures to stop the disease from visiting the state.
However some residents, especially non civil servants, who have one commercial interest or the other to pursue have continued to flout the order which came into effect on Saturday.
