Katsina

The Kastina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, has commended his counterpart in Cross River, Prof. Ben Ayade for appointing an indigene of Katsina state, Alhaji Rabilu Maimaje Abdullahi into his government.

Masari gave the commendation in his congratulatory letter to Abdullahi, signed by the Secretary to the state government,Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa.

Duaglobalnews, an online medium, recalls that Ayade recently appointed Alhaji Abdullahi as Chairman, Cross River State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.

Masari called on Abdullahi to justify his appointment by discharging his responsibilities diligently.

“While appreciating His Excellency, Professor Ayade, we in Kastina are inspired by your achievement.

“We pray, earnestly, that as you take this new responsibility, you will diligently deliver to the best expectations of His Excellency, the Governor, the Muslim community and the entire people of Cross River,”the governor said.

The Katsina governor described Abdullahi as a good ambassador and rejoiced with him on behalf of the good people of the state over his appointment.

“By this well-deserved appointment, you have proved yourself to be a good ambassador whose sterling qualities endear him to his host community,”he said.

Some residents of Lokoja, who bore their minds over the appointment, in separate interview with Duaglobalnews also gave kudos to governor Ayade for the step.

They expressed delight his decision would go along way in uniting Nigerians , irrespective of state of origin and other divisive expressions before giving appointment.

“Nigeria could be on the way to the much desired greatness in the scheme of things, if our politicians could jettison things that divide us in preference for those that unite us,” Andrew Alabi, a contractor said.

He called on other governors to emulate Ayade by appointing non indigenes into their government.

Some years ago, the then Deputy Governor of Kogi state, Mr Phillip Salau, also appointed an indigene of Edo state as his Chief Press Secretary.
