NPA uplifts women,youths in Kogi for self reliance

The Nigeria Port Authority ( NPA),under the leadership of Haijia Hadiza Bala Usman as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities(CSR) has distributrd grinding and sewing machines to at least 100 women and youths in kogi state for self reliance.

The gesture, Duaglobalnews gathered is an integral part of the Vocational Skills Training and Empowerment programme of NPA aimed at lifting idle youths and women from the shackles of poverty.

Mal. Abdulmumin Abubakar, the Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) to the Administrator, who disclosed this in Okene in a statement, described the event as another glorious moment in Okene Local Government Area of the state.

In his speech at the occasion, the leader of the team, Mr Yusuf Ibrahim Eneye, said as a responsible government agency, NPA deemed it fit to engage in lifting Nigerians out of poverty as part of its CSR initiative.

Yusuf therefore enjoined enjoined the beneficiaries to make good use of the items to enable them achieve the desired goal.

He gave kudos to the local government Administrator, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad, for his commitment and leadership style, describing him as a perfect gentleman, a result-oriented fellow and a lover of peace and development.

Muhammad, represented by the Council Supervisor for Health, Hon. Sueimam Jatto, assured the agency that the beneficiaries would put the items to good use in addition to training others to accomplish the desired aims and objectives.

The Administrator promised that the local government would continue to attract meaningful development to the area from within and outside the state.
