Bello second term:Fulani community urges continued priority on security in kogi

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, who took oath of office in Lokoja for second term on Monday, has been urged to continue to make security of lives and property the priority of his government.

A Fulani socio-cultural group, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MCBAN), gave the advice in a statement signed Malam Suleiman Mohammed, its state Secretary on Tuesday in Lokoja.It also urged the governor to ensure cordial relationship between farmers and cattle rearers in the state.

The group, which felicitated with Bello on his inauguration said security become necessary, adding that no meaningful development could take place in any society in the absence of peace and security.

According to the scribe, with adequate security, residents will have the needed confidence to pursue their legitimate activities hindrance.


The socio cultural group called on other political parties, groups, corporate bodies and well-meaning individuals to join hands with the government and security agencies to restore lasting peace to the nooks and crannies of the state.


The fulani community commended the governor for his love and care for its members and further urged him to sustain the tempo through appointment of more Fulanis into his government.


The group also called on its members to continue to be law abiding and refrain from acts that could disrupt the existing peace in the area.


Duaglobalnews reports that various associations among which is the state branch of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) have been felicitating with the governor and his deputy, Chief Edward Onoja in the last 24 hours over their inauguration.

They were sworn in by the State Chief Judge, Justice Nasiru Ajanah in a low key ceremony at Lugard House, Lokoja graced by a cross section of the society, including top government officials, traditional rulers politicians, captions of industry and some governors.
