The Chairman, North Central zone of the Pentecostal Federation of Nigeria (PFN), Pastor PeteRock Sadiq, has advised the world leaders to humble themselves and seek God’s intervention to ‘heal our land’ of Corona Virus.
Citing Global predictions which indicate that Corona Virus pandemic, with daily reports of new cases,will remain for a while because there is no known cure, Sadiq said that there were indications that the disease was beyond man’s knowledge,hence the need to look up to God for mercy.
Sadiq is also a Senior Pastor, House on the Rock church.
In an interview in Minna, shortly after his investiture as Brigadier-General by Mission for Africa foundation International, Florida USA in Collaboration with God’s Armour Corps (Gaccorps), Nigeria said COVID-19 remained a mystery that only God can tackle.
Duaglobalnews reports that Corona Virus which emanated from China on December 31 has claimed registered millions of cases and killed of lives globally, irrespective of class status and religious leaning.
These indices, the Cleric said, informed his belief that only God is capable of stopping the spread and healing Nigeria hence his advice that government should lead citizens to seek God’s mercy to end further spread of the disease.
He told journalists that fervent prayers by Nigerians, irrespective of religious inclinations but with pure heart could make corona virus vanish ‘from our national life, the same way it came.”
“At the moment, prayers is very important for the citizenry to be healed and saved from this deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
” Apart from prayer, we were not aware when it came into Nigeria and I pray that it will go the same way, because nothing lasts forever.
“The same way we have nights and days, it is the same way we have Corona Virus, we will all soon wake up to a season in this country when our country will be healed and Corona Virus will no more be with us.
“God answers prayers, whether it is the prayers of a child, the prayers of a mother, the prayers of Christians or that of Moslems, man or woman. God is merciful, he listens and can answer prayers from a broken heart for our healing and peace to be restored to this nation,”he said
Sadiq,who however, regretted that “Nigerians as a people don’t always be together, reminded them that” it is the heart that matters.”
“The Bible says, eventual fervent prayer of a righteous man is enough to end this calamity. God does not need a people to answer prayers, rather, He only needs our hearts and if our heart is right, then our prayer is right,”he said.
Professor Mike Uchechukwu, represented Mission for Africa foundation International, Florida, USA, represented the Board of Trustee (BoT) Chairman of the group at the occasion.
He said explained that the investiture, ‘Special Executive Patrons Award’ for 2020, was in recognition of Sadiq’s selfless service to God and humanity.
The occasion attracted members of the Mission for Africa foundation International from seven other north-central states including; Benue, Plateau, Bauchi, Kogi, Nasarawa Kwara and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
According to the Professor, foundation is a global non-denominational and non-political ‘soldiers of God’ involved in humanitarian services, especially among uniformed personnel including the army.
These he added include; Navy, Air force and the police for the common goal of rendering selfless service to humanity.
