The National Union of Pensioners Contributory Pension Scheme Sector (NUPCPS) has honoured a top official of the National Pension Commission, Mal. Usman Musa, for his outstanding contributions to the welfare of retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).
In a special report by NUPCPS and obtained by The Reporters on Wednesday, Mal. Musa, who is the Director and Head of Department, CBRD, at the Commission, has officially commenced his three-month pre-retirement leave after what union leaders described as a meritorious and impactful service to the nation.
Speaking during a special valedictory session organised in his honour at the PenCom Auditorium in Abuja on Monday,the National President of Nigeria Union of Pensioners Contributory Pension Sector, Comrade Sylva Nwaiwu, praised the retiring director for his commitment to pension reforms and the welfare of retirees across the country.
Comrade Nwaiwu particularly commended Mr. Musa for his relentless efforts toward securing the Federal Government’s approval and release of N758 billion to offset outstanding pension liabilities owed to retirees under the CPS.
He prayed for good health, peace and continued success for the retiring PenCom chief as he begins a new chapter of life after decades of service to the nation.
In recognition of Mal.Musa’s contributions, the national leadership of NUPCPS presented a portrait to the retiring director as a symbol of appreciation and goodwill for a fulfilling retirement life.
The presentation was accompanied by glowing tributes describing Mal. Musa as a dedicated public servant whose efforts significantly advanced the cause of pensioners and strengthened confidence in the pension administration system.
The event, which attracted a full-capacity audience, was attended by members of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) and the NUPCPS national leadership, who joined family members, colleagues and associates in celebrating the veteran administrator.
