The Kano State Online Media Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed deep grief over the passing of two serving members of the Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo and Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, who represented Ungogo and Kano Municipal constituencies respectively.

The expression of condolence is contained in a statement e-signed on Wednesday in Kano by the Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Abubakar Abdulƙadir Ɗangambo.

Ɗangambo described the demise of the lawmakers as a heartbreaking loss, adding that the sad event has cast a dark pall over Kano State and beyond

The online media chapel chairman noted that their deaths have deprived the state of committed public servants whose voices, wisdom and dedication stood as strong pillars of representation and governance.

According to him, the Kano State Online Media Chapel of the NUJ received the news of their passing with profound sorrow, stressing that the late legislators were distinguished and eloquent representatives who discharged their duties with uncommon passion and devotion to public service.

The Chairman extended the Chapel’s heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Speaker,Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibrin Ismail Falgore, members of the State Assembly, and the people of Kano State.

He described the deaths as not only a personal tragedy for the families but a monumental setback for Kano State and the nation at large, adding that the exit of the two lawmakers has created a painful vacuum in the legislative arm that will be difficult to fill given their experience, dedication and commitment to service.

Ɗangambo, on behalf of members of the Kano State Online Media Chapel, prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the departed souls and grant their families the strength and fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

Our Correspondent gathered that Hon. Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo and Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji passed away on Wednesday evening after protracted illnesses.
