Bago Sends 30 Commissioner Nominees to Niger Assembly for Screening, Confirmation

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has forwarded the names of 30 commissioner nominees to the Niger State House of Assembly (NSHA) for screening and confirmation.

The list includes the suspended Chairman of Bosso Local Government Council, Ladidi Bosso, and former Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Maurice Magaji.

A statement issued on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government Alhaji Abubakar Usman, on Tuesday in Minna indicate that the nomination of the nominees is in line with Section 192(2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

According to Usman,the selections were made after due consultations and based on the candidates’ track records of integrity, competence, and commitment to the state’s development.

He quoted Governor Bago as reiterating his administration’s commitment to inclusivity, competence, and the consolidation of the New Niger Agenda through effective service delivery across all sectors.

Our Correspondent report that the nominees are expected to undergo security clearance and other required vetting processes before their confirmation.

The list of nominees and their respective local governments are as follows:
Muhammad Qasim Danjuma (Agaie), Barr. Mohammed Bello (Agwara), Dr. Hadiza Asabe Mohammed (Bida), Sulaiman Umar (Bida), Dr. Murtala Bagana (Bida), Abdulrazaq Mu’azu Jakada (Borgu), Umar Rabe Sanda (Bosso), Ladidi Bawa Bosso (Bosso), Barr. Nasiru Mu’azu (Chanchaga), Faruk Umar Audi (Chanchaga), Jacob Baba Yisa (Edati), Abdullahi Adamu Mamagi (Gbako), Haruna Abubakar Magaji (Gurara), and Adamu Abdullahi Sheshi (Katcha).

Other nominees include Lawal Maikano (Kontagora), Phalal Mohammed Bako (Kontagora), Mu’azu Hamidu Jantabo (Lapai), Mustapha Ndajiwo (Lavun), Prof. Muhammad Yakubu Auna (Magama), Kabiru Abbas (Mariga), Abubakar Umar Abule (Mashegu), Aminu Suleiman Takuma (Mokwa), Maurice Magaji (Munya), Alhaji Abubakar Musa Abule (Paikoro), Ahmed Ibrahim Inga (Rafi), Isah Sidi Rijau (Rijau), Hadiza Idris Kuta (Shiroro), Abdullahi Maje (Suleja), Obed Nana (Tafa), and Bashir Mohammed Lokogoma (Wushishi).
