

,,,, Pensioners eager to know date for disbursement of N758 billion for their arrears.

The National Pension Commission (PenCom) has invited retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) to participate in its Customer Service Week, scheduled for Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Review Hotel (Royale), Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, Wuse II, Abuja.
The National Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners Contributory Pension Scheme (NUPCPS), Comrade Sylva Nwaiwu, disclosed this in an online broadcast to members nationwide on Saturday.
“It is an enlightenment event. There will be a workshop, and there will be enough food and drinks for everyone,” he said.
According to him, 30 union members who indicated interest on the group’s social platform are expected to attend, assuring them of enough to eat and drink,but stressed that participants will bear the cost of their transportation to and from the event.
Meanwhile, some CPS retirees in Lokoja, in their conversation with The Reporters on the event,described the invitation as an enhanced positive sign of collaboration between PenCom and NUPCPS in pursuit of their shared goals.
The retirees, therefore, urged their chairman to use the occasion to seek more information and specific date the disbursement of the ₦758 billion bond earmarked for the payment of outstanding allowances to CPS pensioners will commence and advised that the money should be paid to their personal account and not PFAs.
According to Mal. Isah Mohammed,a CPS retirees, he and other members of the union are eager to know “when exactly ,alert will hit their bank account.”
