Pastor Rotimi Nathaniel of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), City of Grace, Region 24, Kogi State, has assured that Nigeria will soon overcome its economic challenges and emerge stronger by the grace of God.
Nathaniel gave the assurance on Sunday during a thanksgiving service held by the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kogi State Council, at the City of Grace Regional Headquarters, Lokoja, as part of activities marking its 2025 Press Week.
Preaching on the theme “Arise to the Next Level,” the cleric said with the policies and programmes being implemented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, it was only a matter of time before Nigerians begin to smile again.
Quoting 1 Samuel 1:18–19, he declared that God had not forgotten Nigeria and would rise to deliver the nation from prevailing security and economic challenges.
“God loves Nigeria. Despite all our political, social, and security crises, the country is still standing strong. No one can battle with the Lord God of Nigeria. By His mercy, He will deliver us from sorrow, poverty, and lack. Nigeria will rise again to the shame of her mockers and enemies,” Nathaniel said.
The cleric, however ,lamented the rising tide of kidnapping, banditry, ritual killings, and cultism, which he described as satanic practices attracting curses on the nation.
The religious leader who expressed faith that God’s intervention would restore peace and prosperity,emphasized the spirit of giving, urging Nigerians to support one another in order to cushion the effects of the current hardship in the country.
He also called on wealthy individuals and corporate organizations to extend assistance to the less privileged.
“We believe things will turn around for good with the government’s economic reforms. What is required is consistent prayer and brotherly love through giving. That is how our nation’s economy will recover,” he added.
The cleric congratulated journalists on their Press Week, praying for God’s continued protection as they carry out their duties as members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm.
In his remarks, the NUJ Chairman in Kogi State, Mallam Seidu Ademu, thanked the church leadership for hosting the union’s thanksgiving service and pledged the council’s continued commitment to professionalism.
