Eyewitnesses said the suspect, who is often seen rummaging through refuse bins in the neighborhood, engaged Danshehu in a fight before allegedly stabbing him with a pair of scissors.

Our correspondent gathered that the victim was rushed to Minna General Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer for Police Command in the state,SP.Wasiu Abiodun, said the suspect, who is believed to be mentally unstable, was immediately taken into custody.

“It was reported that Mubarak, a known scavenger in the area, had a physical altercation with a passerby, Shamseen Danshehu.

“During the fight, Mubarak stabbed the victim in the chest with scissors. The victim was rushed to the hospital but did not survive,” Abiodun stated.

He said the police have commenced an investigation into the incident to determine the motive behind the attack.
