NAWOJ Mourns Tragic Loss of Students in Felele Highway Accident, Calls for Urgent Action

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) , Kogi State chapter,has expressed heartfelt condolences over the devastating Felele Highway accident that claimed the lives of some students from the Federal University, Lokoja.

In a statement issued from Lokoja, with a copy made available to The Reporters in o. Wednesday,Comrade Stella Edoka, Chairperson of the Kogi State chapter of NAWOJ, conveyed the Association’s profound sorrow and sympathies to the grieving families and the university community.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the lost students and the entire university community during this incredibly difficult time.

“May they find comfort and strength in this moment of overwhelming grief,” she said.

NAWOJ called on the state government to urgently investigate the cause of the tragic accident and take necessary measures to prevent such heart-wrenching incidents in the future.

The chapter further urged the government to prioritize the installation of more speed bumps and other safety measures along the Felele Highway, where accidents have become an all-too-frequent tragedy.
