Senator Natasha Hadiza Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has been honored with a nomination for the prestigious ‘Senator of the Year’ category at the renowned Thisday Awards.

Leading a competitive field of nominees, Natasha tops a list that includes Senators Solomon Adeola (Ogun West), Ireti Kingibe (FCT), Adams Oshiomhole (Edo North), and Ali Ndume (Borno South).

Born on December 9, 1979, Natasha’s ascent in the Senate has been remarkable.

She was recently appointed as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content and the Vice Chairman of the Committee on Steel. Her principled and progressive approach to governance underscores her effectiveness in these influential roles.

Among her significant contributions are her advocacy for the renaming of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Okene, after the revered Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Ado Ibrahim, and her relentless pursuit of the revival of the Ajaokuta Steel Project in Kogi Central, a key economic driver for the region.

Our correspondent gathered that with her impactful leadership and dedication to her constituents, the people of Kogi State are rallying behind Senator Natasha, hoping to see her crowned the winner of this prestigious award.
