Former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has been released from the Kuje Custodial Centre after meeting stringent bail conditions set by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Maitama, Abuja.
The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), FCT Command spokesperson, Adamu Duza, confirmed the development on Friday evening.
“in Bello has been released after fulfilling the bail conditions. He was released this evening,” Duza disclosed.
The release, supervised by the FCT Controller of Corrections, Ajibogun Olatubosun, followed strict adherence to legal protocols.
Justice MaryAnne Anenih had granted Bello bail on Thursday, setting the sum at ₦500 million. The terms include providing three sureties who own properties in premium Abuja neighborhoods like Maitama, Guzape, or Asokoro.
The judge also asked Bello to surrender d his passport and prohibited him from leaving Nigeria without prior court approval.
