Dr. Mike Fatukasi, Principal of Adedokun International Schools in Sango-Ota, Ogun, has urged parents to support their children who show potential in sports, emphasizing that developing such talents can lead to a bright future. Fatukasi shared this message during the school’s 15th Inter-House Sports event held on Saturday in Ota, Ogun.
According to him,that there are significant opportunities and financial rewards in sports, pointing to global examples of success. Fatukasi explained that events like the Inter-House Sports competition serve to enhance students’ skills and identify those who can potentially represent Ogun State and Nigeria internationally.
“Parents should encourage children who excel in sports, as this could be their path to future achievements,” Fatukasi stated. He emphasized that some students may not perform as well academically but possess exceptional talent in sports, which can be nurtured through early identification in school events.
Fatukasi called on federal and state governments to invest in Inter-House Sports programs in schools as a way to revive the country’s legacy in sports. Engr. Niyi Adedokun, Chairman of Adedokun International Schools, echoed this sentiment, stating that the event’s primary purpose is to uncover talents within the student body.
Our correspondent reports that eight houses competed in the event, with Orange House taking 1st place, Blue House in 2nd, and Purple House in 3rd. Winners were awarded medals and certificates of participation.
