The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Road Marshal Assistant Training School has trained its workforce for an enhanced service delivery and rescue operations.
The course, attended by 415 Road Marshal Assistants from across the Corps, in Shendam, Plateau State during a one-week training programme from August 25th to 30th, 2024 demonstrated the commitment of Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, mni, FCA, FCTI, CPFA, to the ongoing training and professional development of FRSC personnel to meet current expectations.
At the closing ceremony, the school’s Commandant, Mallam Yakubu Mohammad, encouraged the participants to act as change agents within their respective commands.
He said that the course specifically focused on “Repositioning FRSC for Enhanced Service Delivery in Patrol and Rescue Operations,” urging them to apply the knowledge gained during the training and to represent the Corps positively.
He said that the training program was designed to provide the Road Marshal Assistants with the necessary skills and professionalism for their duties.
The Commandant expressed confidence that the course had equipped participants with valuable insights into rescue operations, enforcement, the use of technology, discipline, integrity, inter-agency collaboration, and civility toward the public.
He emphasised the importance of maintaining civility in their operations and urged motorists to obey traffic rules and cooperate with road marshals, warning that unprovoked attacks on operatives during patrol or rescue operations would no longer be tolerated by the Corps.
