Eid-el Fitr:Nasarawa Speaker felicitates with muslims, urges prayers, adherence to COVID-19 protocols

The Seaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, has urged citizens of the state to respect all government directives and health experts’ advice against coronavirus in order to curtail its spread in the country.

The speaker gave the advice in his sallah message issued and signed by his Press Secretary, Jibrin Gwamna, and made available to newsmen in Lafia on Sunday.

Abdullahi emphasized that COVID-19 “is real, hence the need for all Nigerians to adhere strictly to the preventive measures against it, in the interest of the health of the people and for the overall development of the country.”

He said that all government directives and health workers advice against COVID-19 were positive steps aimed at tackling the spread of the dreaded disease, hence the need for all to abide by them for the safety of all.

He further said: ” I urge all of us to continue adhering striclty to all the safety measures against COVID-19 as advised by the government and health experts such as frequent washing of our hands, embrace social distancing, the use of face masks.

“We should also maintain personal and environmental hygiene at all times.

” If this is done by all of us, it will go a long way in curtailing the spread of the virus in the country and this is in the interest of our health and for the socio-economic development of the country.”

The speaker commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for the positive steps taken against the virus as well as for providing palliatives to the people of the state in order to cushion the effect occasioned by COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

The state number three citizen, while congratulating Muslim faithful for successful completion of Ramadan fast and Sallah celebration, emphasized the need for Nigerians to intensify prayers against coronavirus and other emerging challenges in the state and the country at large.

He also enjoined Muslims to sustain the spirit of Ramadan and called on religious leaders to continue to preach peace and unity among their subjects.

Abdullahi also called on the well to do Nigerians to support the less privileged ones among them in order to improve on their standard of living.

The speaker assured of the Assembly’s readiness to give the state government all the necessary support in the fight against COVID-19 .

He urged the people of the state to continue to live in peace, be law abiding, respect constituted authorities and be their brother’s keepers for development to the state.
