Police Arrest 2 Armed Robbery Suspects, Recover Stolen Vehicles, Guns,,,in Niger.

The Niger Police Command in Niger state says it has apprehended two notorious armed robbery suspects,seized vehicles and firearms they used in their criminal activities.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer,PPRO, for the Command in Minna,SP Wasiu A.Abiodun and a copy made available to The Reporters on Monday.

He said the command also neutralized weapons of mass destruction planted by insurgents in various parts of the state, particularly in Shiroro Local Government Area.

He said:” Recovered items in Shiroro include four pipe-borne IEDs found in Galadima-Kogo on September 27, 2021, explosives hidden in military missile shells and a 5kg cooking gas cylinder recovered in Mutun-daya on February 11, 2022.

“On October 24, 2023, three military hand grenades and other explosives were destroyed in Gbeganu area of Minna.

“The successful destruction of these dangerous materials occurred on August 22, 2024, at a site behind Zuma Rock, Suleja, led by SP Mohammed Mamun of the EOD-CBRN Unit.

“Police operatives from the Intelligence Department also recovered an abandoned AK-49 rifle in a forest between Gwajau and Sikiti villages in Paikoro Local Government Area. The rifle, left by suspected bandits during a clearance operation, is under forensic and ballistic analysis.

“Further, the Lapai Division recovered a stolen Mercedes C230 from the Low-cost area, which had been abandoned by robbers at Kudna village along the Lapai-Lambata road.

“On August 23, 2024, two suspects, Abdulaziz Hassan, 22, from Gwarinpa, Abuja, and Hussaini Ibrahim, 23, from Rafin-seyin, Suleja, were arrested in Zuba near Abuja.

“The suspects confessed to their involvement in a robbery, with stolen items including two iPhones, four Android phones, and a laptop with WiFi. Investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being made to capture other members of the gang.”
