The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, has praised the Trade Modernisation Project (TMP) for its crucial role in advancing the Customs’ modernisation efforts.
Adeniyi expressed his gratitude after receiving a customized generator and a bus from Saleh Ahmadu, TMP’s Chairman, at the Project Management Office in Abuja.
“In behalf of all our officers and personnel, I deeply appreciate TMP’s generous gesture in providing us with a 250KVA generator and a 13-seater 2024 Toyota Hiace Bus,” Adeniyi said.
He highlighted TMP’s ongoing commitment to equipping and training Customs staff, essential for achieving their modernisation goals.
Adeniyi emphasized the significance of TMP’s support in enhancing work environments and boosting officers’ welfare, underscoring that technology alone cannot achieve desired outcomes without human effort and conducive working conditions.
He assured that the equipment would be effectively utilized to enhance the Nigerian Customs Service’s operational capabilities.
Adeniyi also encouraged officers participating in TMP’s specialized training programs to prioritize their learning and professional growth.
Saleh Ahmadu, in turn, explained that the bus would facilitate efficient personnel movement between headquarters and the TMP office, while the generator would ensure uninterrupted power supply to NCS management quarters.
He acknowledged Adeniyi’s continuous support and collaboration in advancing TMP’s objectives.
