Photospeak: Journalists “wash” appointment of colleague.

    Members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists,NUJ, kogi state of council,on Monday, converged at a recreational outfit to felicitatate with one of them, Yusuf Jimoh Itopa, the new Managing Director/, Chief Executive Officer, of Graphic newspaper, Lokoja.

Our Correspondent recalled that the state head of service,Pst Elijah Evinemi announced the appointment of Itopa last week.

 

Members were seen exchanging pleasantries with one another and reflecting on the appointment of Itopa, a development they described as unique.

They described Itopa as a thorough bread journalist and friendly, adding that he is capable of managing the newspaper effectively.

According to them, the appointment of Itopa represents the value the governor attaches to  journalists in the state.

Speaking with our correspondent in an interview, the new MD/CEO, thanked Almighty God for making his appointment possible.

Hee also thanked the Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for reposing confidence in him by appointing him for the sensitive office.

The Chairman, Caretaker Committee,Adavi Local Government Area,who also graced the occasion, commended the Governor for appointing Itopa.

He expressed confidence in the ability of Itopa whom he described as a seasoned journalist, adding that the new boss of the newspaper.

Itopa promised not to disappoint the governor and the people of the state, adding that he is determined to give much publicity to the policies and programmes of the state government for understanding and appreciation beyond the shores of the state.

The Chairman, Caretaker Committee,Adavi Local Government Area, Monday Eneji,who also graced the occasion, commended the Governor for appointing Itopa.

He expressed confidence in the ability of Itopa, whom he described as a seasoned journalist, adding that the new boss of the newspaper would justify his appointment.
