By correspondent in Lokoja.
The Forum of Veteran Media Executives, (FVME),kogi state, has set up a 3-man committee to urgently review its constitution.
Our correspondent reports that the Forum took the decision on Thursday at its 16th monthly meeting held at the NUJ, Lokoj
The Forum said the decision to revisit the constitution became necessary due to noticeable loopholes it noted were hindering the proper operation of its constitution.
Inaugurating the committee, the President of the Forum, Mr. Barth Ademu, urged its members to come out with reacher and operational document that would effectively guide and move the union forward.
Members of the committee are: Alhaji Sani Adamu, Chairman, Mr. Akpata Jordan Alaba and Alhaji Hussein Abubakar.
Responding on behalf of members, the Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Sani Adamu, thanked the Forum for believing in him and the members for giving them such a task to execute.
He, therefore, promised the committee would turn in reacher and operational constitution in the next meeting of the Forum.
The Reporters reports that the Forum also resolved at the meeting that there was the need for members to show more commitment towards its growth and development.
This it stressed especially in their financial obligations, noting that being only nominal member would not be the yardstick for such a member to enjoy the inherent privileges.
Members were also advised to be in constant contact with one another to know members’ state of health, reminding them that was one of the essence of the formation of the Forum.
In this regard, they were urged to attend Mr. Bola Emmanuel Boro’s daughter’s wedding ceremony enmasse,to show their solidarity for their own.
The wedding, according the Forum, comes up on Saturday, November 4,2023, begining with traditional engagement at No.415A, Adankolo Housing Estate, Lokoja at 7a.m prompt.
This will be followed by Church Wedding, slated for 11 a.m at Crowther Memorial Anglican Church, Lokoja.
