Our unreserved apology for pains of fuel removal subsidy on Nigerians, Governor Sule begs .

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has tendered an unreserved apology, on behalf of the state and Federal government to Nigerians, over the pains inflicted on them as a result of the the fuel subsidy removal, assuring that the government meant well for them.

Addressing the people of the state at the inauguration of the distribution of palliatives to cushion the effects of the hardships being faced by members of the public due to the subsidy removal at the Emir of Lafia Palace, Tuesday, Engineer Sule said the removal of subsidy, rather,was to correct the wrongs for a better tomorrow.

He explained that the choice of the palace for the event was deliberate, stressing that it was devoid of any political undertone, adding that the food items belonged to all, devoid of political leaning.

He said the food items, which would be distributed from Ward to Ward to enable it get right to the grassroots, adding that similar event would be conducted in Chun Mada’s and Emir of Keffi’s palace respectively.

He called on members of the committee responsible for the distribution of the palliative to be upright in discharging their responsibility to ensure that the food items get to the common man at the grassroots.

Earlier in her remarks the state commissioner, Ministry of Special Duties, Humanitarian Service and NGOS, Mrs Margret Elayo, stressed the need for members of the committee to be upright in the discharge of the important assignment.

Responding, the Emir of Lafia, retired Justice Sidi Bage, commended governor Sule for adding to the federal government palliatives aimed at bringing soucur to the people of the state.

He appealed to Nigerians to understand the present situation the government found itself, assuring that the current hardship being experienced would in no distance future be a thing of the past.

The Chairman Lafia Local Government Council, Alhaji Aminu M Maifata, appealed to the people of the council to conduct themselves in an orderly manner during and after the distribution of the palliative.
