No fewer than 10 persons lost their lives in an auto crash involving a truck and a Toyota bus in Oniworo area on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway at 4.30 a.m on Saturday, according to Florence Okpe, an official of the Federal Road Safety Corps,FRSC.

She further disclosed that the accident left two other persons with varying degrees of injuries, adding that seven came out of the wreckage unscathed.

Witnesses said the driver of the Toyota bus, with registration number KLD-539-XA, lost control and rammed into the rear of an unmarked Mack container truck packed by the roadside.

Okpe attributed the cause of the accident to road obstruction on the part of the truck and speeding by the driver of the Toyota bus.

”The crash involved a total of 19 people, with 13 male and six female,” she said.

The FRSC official said that the rescuing team took the injured victims to a private hospital in Ogere for medical attention and deposited the remains of the dead at a morgue in Ipara.
