Governor Sule explains source of funds for campaign

Nasarawa Governor Engr Abdullahi Sule says the money he is using to finance his second term campaign is generated from fund raising launching he personally organized.

Addressing thousands of APC supporters at a campaign rally in Akwanga Local Governnent Area of the state on Thursday, Eng. Sule disclosed that over one billion naira was realized during the fund raising.

He further explained that those whom he invited at the fund raising ceremony were his friends that are well to do in the society whom he assisted in One way or the other when he was heading African Petroleum, AP as well Dangote company.

He said it became necessary to explain his source of funds for the campaign in order to correct the misgivings by his political opponents that he was making use of state funds for his campaign.

The governor, who went down memory lane; announcing some of his numerous achievements since he took over the mantle of leadership about three and half years ago, said they completion of Lafia Airport and Lafia Ultramodern Park, adding that modern other markets were nearing completion in Nasarawa Eggon, Akwanga among several others.

He appealed to the people of the state to give him additional four years to enable him continue to provide them with dividends of democracy.

According to him, the candidature of the main opposition party, PDP, lacks ideas, adding that he is only seeking the governorship position as a source of employment.

The APC chairman in the state, Mr. John Mamman, had while addressing the party faithful, said the desire of governor Sule is to build a Nasarawa state that would be second to none in terms of development, stressing that this could be achieved, if by next year, the electorate turn out enmasse and cast their votes for him.

Also addressing the crowd, the Commissioner for Environment, Honourable Yakubu Kwanta, said the people of the state had never had a peaceful state before like during the current tenure of Eng. Sule.

He,therefore, called on the people of the state to vote massively for the governor to enable him continue with the good work he started.
