Kogi Governor’s mother dies at 101

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state on Saturday lost his mother, Hajia Hawawu Bello in Abuja, aged 101.

Bello, who disclosed the death of his mother in a statement he signed on Saturday, said the deceased would be buried on Monday at her residence in Nagazi, Adavi Local Government Area of the state in accordance with Islamic rites.

He said: “With total submission to the will of Allah, on behalf of the family of Alhaji Bello Ipemida Ochi, we regret to announce the passing away of our matriarch , Hajia Hauwau Oziohu Bello.

“She answered the call of Allah this evening, after a brief illness.

“We are relieved that her passing away was peaceful and painless. Her funeral will be held on Monday, 16th of March,2020 by 10a.m at her residence in Nagazi in accordance with Islamic rites.

“Until her death, she was aged 101 and survived by children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many adopted children.”

Her death came barely two months after the Governor lost her elder sister, Hajia Rabiat Bello.
